Earlier this year, Watts Construction completed three condominium buildings within the Black Desert Golf Village development, marking another milestone in the continued growth of this premier Southern Utah resort community.
Phase Three of the development introduces three wood-framed, two-story buildings designed with flat roof systems and refined architectural detailing. The exterior facades feature a blend of EIFS, Hardie plank siding, ground-face CMU, and stainless-steel cable railings, creating a clean, contemporary aesthetic that complements the surrounding landscape.
The project encompasses over 118,000 square feet across 102 residential units, with layouts ranging from one- to two-bedroom configurations. Each unit includes full kitchens, bathrooms, dining areas, and private patios. Hotel-style conditioned corridors provide interior access and enhance both comfort and security. Each building also features corporate suites, and two of the three buildings include dedicated spa amenities, further elevating the resident experience.
Delivering this project within an active resort environment presented unique challenges. Construction required careful coordination to minimize disruption, as the resort, golf course, and Golf Village Phases One and Two remained fully operational and occupied throughout the project. Additionally, Watts Construction assumed responsibility for Phase Three after replacing the original general contractor. This transition required a comprehensive rebid effort, onboarding new trade partners, and reestablishing project controls. Through disciplined management and a focused team approach, the project was successfully realigned and advanced while maintaining quality, schedule integrity, and seamless integration within the active resort setting.
Today, these residences stand as a key addition to the Black Desert development, supporting its continued evolution as a high-end destination and contributing to the ongoing growth of the Ivins community.
