State Bank of Southern Utah Breaks Ground on New Building in Washington Fields

St. George, UT – State Bank of Utah broke ground on a new location in Washington Fields at a ceremony on Friday, March 3rd, at 11:00 am.

City officials, the business community, and those involved with the project attended and learned more about the new building and what it will bring to St. George City. St. George Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Shawn Christensen spoke, along with the key personnel from the project team.

Eric Schmutz, the CEO of State Bank of Southern Utah said, “We are excited to be expanding again in Washington County. State Bank of Southern Utah has called Southern Utah home since 1957. It’s in our name! The construction of another office here in the Washington Fields area is just one of many ways of showing our ongoing commitment to our customers and all residents here.”

The 12,775-square-foot building will have two floors of office space, a banking café, and a four-lane drive-through. It will be steel-stud framed with a masonry and glass façade. The building will be located at the corner of Mall Drive and Sandia Road.

Construction has already begun by local contractor, Watts Construction.

“We’re excited to be working on a project for a company that’s been in this area for so long and provides such a great service for this community,” said Watts CEO, Chris Boudrero. “Desert Edge Architecture designed a great building, and we’re happy to be partnering with them and their consultants for another successful project. We’ve also put together a strong team of subcontractors that we look forward to working with.”
